We Were Up Early,

and off to Immigration,

that is in Soi 5 on Jomtien Beach Road,

every 90 days we have to check in and advise the officers there of any change of address,

the good news was that in the time it has taken me to type this so far we were checked in, our new notification form printed, signed and we were on our way for breakfast, we parked in Walking Street,

 outside the Incredible Hulk bar,

we made our way under the Walking Street sign,

to the Pattaya Beer Garden, it is the first bar at the end of a walk way as you approach Walking Street from Pattaya Beach Road,

as you walk along the walkway to the seating this is the view of Pattaya beach, looking past the water treatment plant on the right,

it was a day out for the tethered balloon today,

it was high in the sky as we arrived, but was now slowly being brought back to earth,

we were early at the beer garden, the only customers in fact, but it had not yet fully opened,

which gave us time to look at activities in the bay, so I zoomed in with the camera,

the most notable being parasailing,

or as it is also known, parascending or parakiting,

a speed boat pulls you into the air from one of the barges anchored in the bay, it slows down just enough to get you feet wet,

 then you are up,

 up,

 and away!

until you make your safe decent back onto the barge,

Diana ordered a coke zero, an ice coffee for myself,

next a company party, it was the birthday of one of the staff,

 our breakfast arrived,

 mini beefburgers for Diana,

 with large cut chips,

 a prawn cocktail for myself,

with a sprinkle of lime juice,

 next back to the motorbike,

and we were on our way driving along Walking Street,

going past some of the many new bars that have opened since our last visit to the strip,

not many people in the street at this time of the morning,

and everything looking so different in the daylight,

despite all of the new bars,

I still remember this one from my first visit in 1982, the Marine Bar/Disco, still here and going strong,

we carried on along the strip,

 past Nangnual Seafood restaurant,

and turned left into the small Soi that goes through the Middle Eastern quarter that leads to Second Road,

there is a 7-11 in it of course,

plus a huge selection of restaurants,

 from the region,

if you have driven along this area at night you will know how loud the music will be, if not you have no idea how high the volume can be, it is ear splitting outside some of the bars and restaurants, but that is the way the customers like it,

at the end of the Soi we turned into Second Road,

past Ronald McDonald's and home for a coffee or two,

in the late afternoon we watched a couple from The Living Planet, I normally make a link to the International Movie Data Base (IMDB), in case anyone wants a few more details about a programme we have watched, the data base gives this a rating of 9.1 one of the highest I have ever seen, so very informative, a great series to watch,

after our evening meal we watched a few from Ripper Street, we had not watched it for so long we had forgotten a lot of the plot, so it was enjoyable to watch again, we followed that by a few more from Boardwalk Empire, by now it was well past midnight so we were off to bed.
