Mark Called Round In The Morning,

he is over from his home in Cambodia for a week or ten days,

so we had a lot to catch up on, after a few coffees we said our goodbyes and we were off to the weekend plant market, if you take the Sukhumvit Road going towards Bangkok as you pass the Bangkok/Pattaya hospital on your left take the the next 'U' turn going back to Pattaya and it will be on your left, in the car park looking back towards the Bangkok Pattaya hospital,

in the car park we noticed a novelty on the car on the left of the picture,

a wind-up key, to make the car look as if it was a wind-up toy, over here we are seeing more and more of these on cars and of all things smaller keys on motorcycle crash helmets,

we were greeted by a nice selection of palms as we made our way into the market,

a few stall holders still had not arrived, so there were a few empty spaces,

but one selling orchids was here,

 with lots of orchids,

the insectivorous plant stall had it's usual selection,

with one exception, this incredibly tall pitcher plant,

that had a really strange 'mouth' to it's stem,

canna lilies seem to be in season now,

 with their bold, bright flowers,

lots of water lilies as well,

we passed another area where the traders had not yet arrived,

making our way towards the large plant section,

a truck load of yucca plants arrived,

and here is one that was delivered earlier,

into the next aisle where the garden ornament shops are,

rabbits seem to be in vogue this week,

 almost opposite another stall,

 with busy bee wind mobiles,

as we are having Sunday lunch at home we bought some orchids for the table,

and I had a look at the cactus,

 and aquatic stalls,

 the stall selling airplants,

 was also here this week,

then some good news, the stall with the pots we wanted had some in stock,

so we bought a few of them, hopefully in a few months some of the seedling cactus we have will find their way into these,

these plants look so thin and spindly, but look at the pot in the centre of the picture,

the fruit in it from the plant next door is huge,

another one of the aquatic stalls,

at the end of the aisle a stand of bamboo,

also at this end there are the stalls selling food, so Diana had a snack cooked for her,

whilst I had a look around,

the regular coffee van had not arrived by then, so we tried one we had not used before,

whilst waiting I had a look at some of the gardening implements on offer,

and noticed a few more canna lilies,

food and coffee received and we were ready to go,

so home, a quick shower and we were off to the weekend night market on Thepprasit Road,

construction still continuing looking towards Jomtien,

blue skies with slight cloud looking inland,

the lamp stall not yet lit up,

opposite the bar tonight a stall selling shoes and next to it clothes,

the shoes to wear for the vertically challenged and for those that want to be noticed,

we must have been a tad early,

as trucks were still unloading in both food aisles,

and we can now see what the concrete posts and pillars are for, over head coverings from the rain,

I am guessing the blue pipes are for electrical cables,

the pet section, still strangely facing the 'wrong' way, if you did not know it was there it would be easy to miss it,

but I did not miss Cher and Jim who were looking in the pet aisle,

at the end of the row the aquatic shop had not yet opened,

 sunset over the market,

some of the assistants at the market taking a break at the bar,

looking inland hardly a cloud in the sky,

the peanut seller on the steps to the left of the bar,

and a mobile cake stall going past,

 Brian joined us tonight,

 as did Hans,

 all smile for the camera!

 then Mr. Tony called by,

as Cher returned from her look around the market, we chatted the evening away, and after saying our farewells made a move for home,

but walking back I mention to Diana I did not fancy pumpernickel bread tonight and suggested we stop off at the Punch and Judy for their Friday special of fish and chips,

 which we did,

but a slight change of plan, Diana decided on the rack of ribs,

whilst I went with the lamb chops,

arriving home it was time for a comedy, A Million Ways To Die In The West, great almost slapstick comedy in places, but with an adult take on things, with that we were then off to bed.
