Up Early,

and we were off fishing,

as I was mixing the bait I noticed,

the lakes new kitten was becoming more adventurous,

it was going to be a hot one today,

since our last visit here the few lotus that were at the right hand side of the lake had spread across the far bank,

just a few weeks ago they only grew in this section,

and some were putting on a show,

 like this one,

for some reason the lakes cats did not wait for us to catch a fish before coming over, Diana gave Mum, Dad and kitten some shortbread that Nick had baked which they seemed to like,

then the first fish to Nick,

which was big enough to eat,

 then a second,

2-0 to Nick, unfortunately to small to keep, but it still counts as one! things were getting serious, but then the first fish arrived,

cooked in garlic with a slightly spicy dip,

woe is me, a third fish for Nick and for me and I had still to catch my first,

it was another small one, but with a difference, it was the most intense black colour that we had ever seen in this lake before, anyway back he went,

and that is the way the day ended 3-0 to Nick, but during the afternoon I took a few pictures of the dragonflies,

that have started to appear at the lake again,

if you want to fish here, it is the Mamak fishing park, their map above, it is off of Soi Nub Plan Wan, (spelt as it sounds), turn into the Soi from Sumkivitt, once in the Soi go over the railway crossing and continue for a couple of miles, the road starts to go downhill, near the bottom of it you will see the road the fishing park is in on the right hand side, almost opposite the big pink building on the left, follow that for a while, it twists and turns a bit and the fishing park is on the left next to a soccer ground, there are rods and tackle for hire and bait to buy, plus a fridge full of beer!

we made a move to Nick and Maureen's home, since our last visit they had bought a few new plants for their garden,

like this frangipani that Diana is posing beside,

the pool always looks so inviting,

Nick and Maureen had bought Diana a birthday present which was so kind of them,

we settled down to an excellent curry that Nick had prepared, followed by some desserts,

then time to open Diana's present, chocolates! what could be better?

then to the serious part of the evening, Monopoly! Nick was lucky in that he had already won the fishing contest and his luck or perhaps I should say skill held, he wiped the board with us all and emerged victorious, as it was by now late we thanked Nick and Maureen for their hospitality and made a move for home, a quick nightcap and we were off to bed.
