We Were Out To Go Fishing,

when we left it was fine and dry,

but as we neared the railway line,

it was obvious that it had been raining earlier,

on the other side of the tracks the ground was a little higher,

 but then,

 went slightly down hill,

 it was still slightly raining,

so the water was getting deeper,

 and deeper,

 and then,

it was bye bye for the motorbike,

the drivers of petrol driven cars,

 having seen others abandon,

tried to turn off on to higher ground to wait out the flood,

 but those with diesel engines,

 kept going,

we were now going slightly uphill,

so things were not quiet so bad,

but drivers were still turning off looking for higher ground until the flood waters went down,

we picked up Nick and Maureen, whose home did not flood and made our way to the lake,

 the skies were still cloudy,

but at least it was not raining,

 and here we are,

Nick was into the first fish of the day,

and a fighter it was too,

 then it was my turn,

 and another,

that somehow unhooked itself from the hook, but then disappeared through a large hole in the net, so the score one all to Nick, the fish and myself,

 a second for myself,

in the distance storm clouds were gathering, plus the thunder was getting louder,

one of the first fish we caught soon arrived back on the table, so tuck in for breakfast,

 another for myself,

and one more for Nick, at one stage the score was 5 - 2 to Nick, but I eventually caught up until we were 13 - 13, the time for the forlorn hope, the last cast of the day, the score ended 14 - 13 to me as I had the good fortune to land on on the last cast,

f you want to fish here, it is the Mamak fishing park, their map above, it is off of Soi Nub Plan Wan, (spelt as it sounds), turn into the Soi from Sumkivitt, once in the Soi go over the railway crossing and continue for a couple of miles, the road starts to go downhill, near the bottom of it you will see the road the fishing park is in on the right hand side, almost opposite the big pink building on the left, follow that for a while, it twists and turns a bit and the fishing park is on the left next to a soccer ground, there are rods and tackle for hire and bait to buy, plus a fridge full of beer!

we arrived back at Nick and Maureen's home, where I noticed this dragonfly,

the strange thing was that we did not see any at the lake,

 Diana relaxes by the pool,

arriving we ate some spring rolls, then later in the evening a delicious curry,

that Nick had cooked, followed by ice cream cheese and biscuits,

then on to the serious part of the evening, Monopoly, no prizes for guessing who won, with just three properties Maureen with a hotel on each one whipped us all out, we thanked Nick and Maureen for looking after us so well and made a move for home, then feet up, a nightcap, a episode or two of The Chase and we were off to bed.
