It Has Been Remarkably Cold Out Here,

I looked at the min.max thermometer we have,

I had not zeroed it in a month or so, the maximum was 35 the minimum just 19,

but the cold did not stop one of Diana's stinky cactus from flowering,

it was quite a size, some 6cm or so across,

it is Stapelia but I am not sure which one, most have stamen in the center of the flower, this one does not, also it has many small 'hairs' on the outside of the petals,

I then noticed that they lead to the centre of the flower, I wonder if that is to lead the way for insects to fertilize the flower?

in the evening glad rags on, Mr. Tony called round and we were off to Cherry's

we normally go on one of the International buffet evenings, but tonight we went as it was the lamb special, we started with a prawn appetizer,

 and a selection of breads,

Diana chose the special set menu,

her starter (tartar salmon, crabmeat and smoke duck with mango)

 followed by tomato soup,

Mr. Tony and myself went with the lamb special and started with a lobster bisque,

 'Cheers!',

 next a mango sorbet,

for Diana's set menu she chose a filet mignon,

for Mr. Tony and myself a selection of lamb shank, chop and slice of leg,

 'Cheers!', from all of us,

then eyes down and tuck in,

Diana's set menu came with apple strudel with caramel and chocolate sauce and ice cream,

Mr. Tony chose tiramisu,

I went for the banana split, both menus were 495 baht which we all thought was very reasonable, Cherry's is located on Third Road just opposite what was once the X-Cite disco, they have a daily special menu plus a full à la carte menu, we drove home and watched some of Mrs. Brown's Boys, after saying farewell to Mr.Tony it was feet up a nightcap and we were off to bed.
