We Have Another Early Start Tomorrow,

so again straight on with today's post,

we arrived bright and early at the lake,

hardly a cloud in the sky,

 and nearly no breeze,

it was going to be a hot one today,

 first cast of the day,

watched by one of the lakes cats,

 one of them totally indifferent,

until it thought Maureen had some food for it,

but it was not to be, try as we might, both Nick and myself did not catch a single fish,

so I took a picture of one of the lakes dragonflies, at the end of play 0 - 0, oh well better luck next time! as an aside there were 10 or 12 fisherman at the lake, as we left only one angler had caught a fish all day, they were definitely not biting today,

we arrived back at Nick and Maureen's after a snack of spring rolls, Maureen had prepared a feast,

fillet of pork with stuffing and all of the trimmings,

it was so tasty, for myself I was full to bursting, but Diana had room for a black forest corneto,

then on to the serious part of the evening Monopoly, no prizes for guessing that Nick won! if you want to try your luck at the fishing park it is called the Mamak Fishing Park,

their map above, it is off of Soi Nub Plan Wan, (spelt as it sounds), turn into the Soi from Sumkivitt, once in the Soi go over the railway crossing and continue for a couple of miles, the road starts to go downhill, near the bottom of it you will see the road the fishing park is in on the right hand side, almost opposite the big pink building on the left, follow that for a while, it twists and turns a bit and the fishing park is on the left next to a soccer ground, there are rods and tackle for hire and bait to buy, plus a fridge full of beer!

as we made our way home some of the streets still had Christmas lights on them, hopefully they will stay on for the rest of the year, they looked so nice,

as we left a parcel arrived from the UK, a pan for the pressure cooker,

and a pressure cooker cookbook, it had taken some time to arrive, but it was kind of neat, we paid for both items from Amazon, plus postage and Thai import taxes, it is all worked out for you by Amazon, well I thought it was neat, back to the rest of the evening, feet up a couple from Judge Judy and we were off to bed.

  1. Hi Stan and Diana, excellent blog as usual.

There used to be a fishing park that also doubled as a karaoke with karaoke booths as well? Possibly called 'Uncle Sam's'? Is this place still going?

    Regards,

    Mocha Joe

  2. Dear Mocha Joe, I am sorry to say Uncle Sams on Soi Siam Country Club has long since finished, most of it was filled in to create a car park and outdoor karaoke club, we passed it a few nights ago but have to say it did not look busy but it was still fairly early at 9.30 in the evening, best regards, Stan and Diana.
