With More People Riding Bicycles,

to work, for pleasure or exercise,

bicycle theft is becoming commonplace, another problem that is even if you make the frame secure the components are still a valuable resource for the light fingered,

enter the HexLox, it is a deterrent device designed to stop bike thieves before they can run off with your bicycle’s components, it’s not a new form of hack- or saw-proof chain for locking your ride up, HexLox are clever little inserts that fit directly into your existing bolts so that no one can steal your handlebars, wheels, saddle or other desirable bike parts, these super smart inserts from Germany are lightweight and install in an instant, all you do is place them into the depression at the top of any standard hex bolt and it blocks the insertion of an Allen wrench or other tool for loosening them, if you need to remove them for whatever reason, like adjusting height levels on your handlebars or seat, you just whip out your handy little magnetic hex key and the insert pops right out,

so what stops the thief from buying a HexLoc key and stealing your bike parts?

as far as the HexLox goes, the way the company can ensure you won’t get ripped off while using the 'elegant' security device is that the keys are proprietary, meaning you’re provided with a 'unique and personal key system' that you receive with your set, in other words, you purportedly can’t go out and buy a set and then run around unlocking other people’s HexLox with your key, sets include two HexLox, one unique personal key and one key code card with a three-digit code on it that supports your key, at this point, HexLox comes in common bolt sizes 4#, 5# and 6#, and no I am not on commision, I just thought it was a neat idea.
