the bug company telephoned on the 22nd,
to ask if they could call round on the 23rd,
and they did,
after breakfast and a few more bloodletting's, (mine) as we administered oral antibiotics to Mariana we left to go to the Soi Bukaow market, we parked at the rear of TukCom,
and made our way across Pattaya Tai,
and into Soi Bukaow,
now that is a big piggy bank!
into the market,
for some reason in my head I started singing, 'I've got a lovely bunch of coconuts',
then realised I was looking at bananas, go figure,
must remember to buy some limes for the market this evening,
a boys paradise, cars, lots of them,
and lots of bangles amongst other items here,
then to the tropical fish stall,
a quick look at a few Siamese fighting fish, (Betta splendens).
I wanted to buy some sinking pellets,
like these for the catfish we have,
then I met up with Diana and bought a couple of lightweight shirts,
never mind the quality feel the width!
back across Pattaya Tai,
out here they are so many coaches like this, with stunning artwork decorating them,
we stopped off for an ice tea and coffee,
and another stop for a snack for Diana,
then home for some repair work to the kittens swing, they had bitten through one of the four stings and one of the others was going to fail soon, so I replaced them with fishing line, hopefully as it is nylon it will give rather than break, time will tell, in the distance the open door is the one we had cut through so we could go from the living room to the kittens room,
in the kittens room next to the pool Diana is playing cat lady with the kittens,
next stop the weekend night market on Thepprasit Road,
some cloud looking towards Jomtien,
and inland,
a high rise stall,
today there were some ladies selling peacock feathers,
so I thought after looking around the market I would buy some for the kittens to play with, naturally later in the evening when I was going to buy some the sellers were nowhere to be seen,
opposite the bar this evening a stall selling shorts the other a 49 baht clothes stall,
more work has been completed on the metalwork at the lower end of the market,
a few people in the pet section,
and it was here I was calling into to buy some wet food for the kittens,
the aquatic stall was open,
so I had a quick look at some of the fancy goldfish,
sunset over the market,
at this end furthest from the bar work seems to have finished on the steel work,
one solitary customer at the bar this evening and guess who it was?
Brian who had this week returned from the USA, we chatted the evening away catching up on events,
then home for a delicious beef stew with dumplings,
Mariana had settled on her favourite speaker,
as Mr. Sleep paid her a visit,
with her sleeping in the background,
we watched a couple from Lewis series 2, which was great fun, as the series is filmed in Oxford and as we spent a day there in our UK holiday there would be a chorus from Diana and myself, 'been there!', as we recognised a building we had seen or looked inside,
to round the evening off another few from 3rd Rock From The Sun, then it was time for bed.
Stanley
ReplyDeleteI had the same problem as you trying to give oral medicine to my cat.
I came across a contraption in Daiso ( a type of Japanese Pound shop) on the 3rd floor (I think) of Central Festival, for 60 baht.
It looks like this :

That was about 6 months ago, I purchased one, so maybe no longer stock, but you could also try the pet stalls at Thepprasit market, now you know what it looks like.
Hope that helps.
Dear Anonymous, many thanks for the tip we will look out for one, we also have to give her liquid through a syringe, it is amazing how such a sweet ball of fluff and fur can transform itself into a she-devil the moment pills and the syringe appear! the good news is that she is making good progress and is eating well, best regards, Stanley and Diana.
