Keeping To Madrid,

although some time ago,

 Zebra crossings as we know them in the UK are fairly dull affairs, in just black and white,

 but Bulgarian artist Christo Guelov, has taken the black parts of the crossings, 

and painted in a riot of colours and geometric shapes,

 part art project and part urban safety experiment, this series of Funnycross installations in Madrid have been positioned outside a cross section of city schools,

it will be interesting to see if these coloured Zebra crossings improve safety on the crossings, and what legislation would have to be changed to make them legal, as I guess the laws at the moment only deal in the usual black and white pattern.
