Bryon McGarry told Stars and Stripes, “One of the command post controllers was building a template for this specific thing that was posted.” The message was intended to only go to one person but he “inadvertently sent it to everybody.” McGarry said no alarms or sirens were sounded, the force protection condition was not raised, and gate operations were not shut down or altered in any way due to the alert, "Our command post has robust standard operating procedures that govern distribution of actual emergency messages to the wing and have added checklist items to mitigate accidental distribution of test messages in the future," McGarry said, reading all of this I was immediately reminded of a film I have enjoyed watching a few a few times WarGames, if you have not seen it it is the story of a young boy inadvertently taking on a real War Games computer and nearly starting World War III, of course computer alerts of intending attacks could never happen or could they?
