With Valentines Day Getting Near,

how about taking your special one somewhere different, but romantic?

if you live or will be in the U.S.A. for Valentines Day the nice people at Travel and Leisure have made the choice easy for you, they have listed the most romantic sites in 51 states of America, like the one above, in Miinnesota the Split Rock Lighthouse, the coastline along Lake Superior was once called “the most dangerous piece of water in the world,” by novelist James Oliver Curwood, in 1905, one single storm along the rocky coast caused 29 shipwrecks, although that might not seem romantic the views and location are,

moving on, to D.C. the Tidal Basin, great for views through the cherry blossom of the Jefferson Memorial,

and a hop on a plane away for most Americans, Hawaii, Sweetheart Rock, but do not do what local legend says took place there between two lovers, a Hawaiian maiden named Pehe from Lahaina and a young warrior from Lanai named Makakehau,

in New Hampshire the Lincoln Ice Castles, which have become famous for the otherworldly glow they give off at night, now that is romantic,

and lastly from South Carolina the Boone Hall Plantation, which is one of the country’s oldest working farms, the plantation was founded in 1681 and has been in the middle of American history for over 300 years, as an aside we have featured the nice people at Travel and Leisure before, when they made a list of a National Parks in each of the states of America.
