and we have featured artists and engineers that use them,
one artist we have featured before is Oakland
artist Gabriel Schama,
and these are some of his latest designs,
he designs elaborately layered wood relief sculptures with the
help of a laser cutter,
the pieces are cut from a variety of different plywoods which he layers to create varying images of the human form, architectural studies, and mandala-like patterns,
You can see more on his website, and in his shop, and no I am not on commission I am just amazed at how he thinks of the patterns and translates all of that into a machine that cuts the material,
and if like me you are not au fait with laser cutters, although a bit long this is a good article to start with, and if you really are serious about buying a laser cutter for home use have a look here for a brief run down on the costs of a home laser system, it looks like great fun!
