I Came Across An Interesting List,

the best 35 Westerns ever made,

reading down it I realised I had seen all but three of them! but here is the thing, do kids today even know of the era of Westerns? any way from the list here are my all time favourites, firstly Once Upon a Time in the West, 1968,

 secondly How the West Was Won, 1962,

 thirdly The Big Country, 1958,

and the one that I would have chosen first, if it was there, The Ballad of Cable Hogue, 1970, my number one all time great Western, but it was not on the list, so that goes a long way to explaining my taste in films! 

as an aside I think The General, 1926, 

should have been on the list as well, but there it is.
