We Had A Quiet Day Indoors,

but in the evening a treat,

 the Aroi Pub Resto, we have been to many times before, has open a new restaurant on Thepprasit Road, Soi 8,

  called the Amber,

I am not sure if this menu is just for this evening or every night, in any event a nice selection to choose from,

we were greeted by Peter the owner and a plate of freshly baked bread with blue cheese butter,

 Diana chose the seared scallops, 

 whilst I went with the sauteed tiger prawns,

  'Cheers!',

 Diana had an orange juice,

  then a real delight, we each had a complimentary marzipan cherry, dipped in Belgian chocolate and dusted with coconut and peanuts, we both could have had a few more of those, they were delicious!

  on to our main courses, 

 Diana chose the Greenland halibut, 

  a lamb shank for myself,

 the meal was excellent, we were both full to bursting, at the moment as the restaurant is only a few days old, Peter does not have a full dessert menu but there are a few not yet printed options,

  Diana could not eat another thing but when I heard they had a marzipan and almond tart, I just had to force myself! it was so nice,

 the restaurants card,

and map, I choose a bottle of red wine, Diana had two orange juices, the bill came to just over 2,000 baht which we thought was reasonable, especially that it was a proper bottle of wine that I ordered, not a cheap out of the box fruit juice as some restaurants serve by the glass and I normally drink at home! the restaurant is nicely laid out with linen table clothes, very comfortable chairs and pleasant non-intrusive back ground music, given the success of the Ario, and I can only think that it will be the same here, last night there was plenty of spare tables with just 9 diners, plus ourselves, there is inside and outside dinning areas, but just in case in the future it might be wise to book a table, 

by now it was late, so when we arrived home it was feet up and a nightcap, for two episodes of Dickensian and with that we were then off to bed.
