and just pottered about the house,
watching a few daytime quiz shows, after our evening meal we watched Lemony Snicket's A Series of Unfortunate Events, based on the writings of Daniel Handler, writing under the
pen name Lemony Snicket, who is the New York Times award winning author of the
immensely popular young readers’ series, A Series of Unfortunate Events, since
the release of the first title in the series in 1999, more than 70 million
copies of the thirteen volume series have been sold, in case you have not read
the books, seen the film or the Netflix series the story is about Violet, Klaus
and Sunny Baudelaire who are three intelligent young children who receive
terrible news that their parents have died in a fire and have left them an
enormous fortune not to be used until the eldest child is of age, when they are
sent to live with Count Olaf, who naturally wants their inheritance, we had watched the film before and it was as enjoyable as watching the first time,
then it was time to say goodbye to the excellent cast, crew and writer of Dickensian, we watched the last three episodes back to back, although writer Tony Jordan said he had already scripted 60 episodes and was
banking on the BBC commissioning more, pointing out that Dickens created in
excess of 2,000 characters and he had only used 30, the show after the first 20 episodes was pulled, the reason being I guess, that it was the series no one wanted, that is the series did not
have a specific time slot, so the viewing public had to keep a sharp eye out for
when the next episode would be aired, so audience figures dropped from the first episodes 5 million to just 2 million, such a shame as the series was absolutely
excellent, and with that we were off to bed.
