As Wet, Wild And Windy,

as yesterday was,

today was dry, calm and still, so off to the beach!

 hardly a soul in sight,

 in both directions,

the new paving outside the condominium gate now completed,

we went to the usual spot on the beach,

looking towards Sattahip clear blue skies,

 the same looking towards Pattaya,

 Diana made herself comfortable,

looking out to sea, all of the safty buoys are in place making a safe haven for swimmers,

 and a fishing platform,

 for some fishermen,

a coconut for Diana, soda for myself,

a fisherman dropped the fish a line, and he got a reply!

 a happy Diana,

amateur and professional fishermen at play and work,

time for a late breakfast/early lunch,

for Diana,

chicken fried rice topped with an egg,

 and for myself,

chicken noodle soup, and a sprinkling of peppers and fish sauce,

I was wondering how the fishermen got onto the buoys, it was a long walk along them from the beach,

the answer was obvious, they swam,

 desserts!

 the doughnut man had arrived,

if there are no fish on the seaward side of the buoys, try the beachside of the buoys!

headphones on and relax, what could be better?

we were then visited by one of the squirrels,

who was looking for a handout,

and did not mind looking under the umbrellas for one, then it happened, all was bright, but the rain swept in, the umbrellas whilst good for keeping the sun at bay were no match for the rain, so in between showers we were off,

after our evening meal, and a number of Antiques Roadshows, we decided on a modern remake of King Lear, the brief story, the 80-year-old King Lear divides his kingdom among his daughters, Goneril, Regan and Cordelia, according to their affection for him, Cordelia refuses to flatter him, so he banishes her, having acquired power, Goneril and Regan expel their father from their homes, at the same time, Lear's prime minister, Gloucester, is betrayed by his son Edmund, in case you do not know King Lear has an impressive body count, at the play's end it racked up an impressive ten dead, and that doesn’t even count all the eye-gouging and back-stabbing, there’s barely a central character left alive at the end of this play set with the backdrop of a French invasion in Britain, and to make the play even more atmospheric, much of the play is set against the backdrop of thunder and lightning, and that is what we received last night, thunder, lightning and winds so fierce we had to close the balcony doors! and with the end of the play, we were off to bed.
