and help should be given to them,
as we have mentioned before, but, and it is a big but, I do not want to sit next to a bee hive, or a place that has been made expressly to attract bees, especially if Diana and myself have an ice cream each! but that is what is going to happen in the city of Utrecht,
in the Netherlands local
authorities in the Dutch city have added 316 green-roofed, bee-friendly bus
stops to public transit routes,
more
than 50% of the Netherlands’ 358 bee species are endangered; the green roofs
provide safe, consistent habitat for the critically important pollinators, and
are planted with low-maintenance sedum, I admire the sentiment, but what about those of us that can have a disastrous reaction to a bee sting?
a neat idea, but I can imagine anyone with sweets, ice cream, fresh fruit even, may not be so keen on having bees visiting bus stops for pollen whilst they wait for a bus.
