The Weather Did Not Look Good,

but looking at the days forecast,

it should clear up by midday,

and this was where we were going,

a small town in the Kentish countryside,

 the downside,

was that the weather forecast had not caught up with the weather,

and this is where we were,

 the town of Yalding,

famous for having the longest medieval bridge in Kent,

 we parked up,

and as we were both a tad hungry,

made our way to the local pub/restaurant,

it was a good job we brought the umbrella! built originally in 1492, the Walnut Tree has been here for
some time,

as you walk in a nice comfy area,

leading to the restaurant by the bar, which was fully booked,

but no matter for us, there was a table by the inglenook fireplace,

so we settled down for our late breakfast, early lunch, I had ordered a steak, so it was a two table affair,

 first a coffee each,

then Diana's food arrived,

a rack of ribs with all of the extras,

I can now see why I needed two tables, a large plate of chips, mushrooms and tomatoes appeared,

and on the second table, a 10 ounce steak on a very hot piece of stone,

'Cheers!' with latte coffee, today I was driving, the meal was excellent along with a coke for Diana it came to £39.00,

 as forecasted,

 the rain had stopped,

so we went for a walk through the village,

 it all looked so quant,

with its many differently shaped buildings,

 we made our way,

 past the church,

to the start of the bridge,

the first arches over barely a small stream,

 with a house overlooking it,

 the church behind us,

looking back towards the Walnut Tree,

 and now across the bridge,

in the distance the main river,

a tributary of the River Medway,

 the houses nearby leading down,

 to the River Beult,

 the river was slowly flowing,

but it does have a history of flooding,

flooding aside what a great place to live, if as your hobby you are a fisherman, (and have the fishing rights),

the bridge, only one car wide,

but in the centre a lay by to let cars, in the day horse drawn wagons pass each other,

 there are also pedestrian refuges,

that afford a nice view of the river,

if only I had a rod and line, trout for our evening meal!

 the village post office,

we made our way back to the car, passing the sunflowers in the garden by the church,

 the local blacksmith,

as we had plenty of time,

 we took the back roads,

as normal the car performed perfectly,

we passed through a good number,

 of places,

 I had never heard of,

 some just a few houses,

 but then,

here we were on the outskirts of Maidstone, so sat nav on and we were on our way home, after our evening meal a couple of quiz shows, then we spent an hour or so looking at photographs that I had not taken to Thailand of my family, Diana said I should post some on the blog as it is about us, guess what? tomorrow I will post a few, that should be something to look forward to, (not), we rounded to evening off with one from the Game of Thrones and with that we were off to bed.
