going shopping,
Steve and Kai very kindly picked us up,
so first stop to Wing Yip,
which is recognised as the UK's leading Oriental grocer with
four sites - Birmingham, Manchester, Croydon and Cricklewood, although a couple of years old, this is the story of how a dishwasher, then waiter became the head of a company with an annual turnover of £100 million,
apart from shopping we were here for breakfast, the girls choose a selection of dim sum,
pork with noodles for Diana,
Singapore noodles for Kai,
a beef dish for Steve, for myself beansprouts,
and chicken with cashew nuts,
time to start,
meal and shopping finished next stop, Costco,
for our big shop, all the escentals, 4 boxes of wine a case of beer, washing powder, washing up liquid and various other household goods, all in super sized quantities, £250 later and we were on our way,
the skyline of Croydon,
busy with cranes and soon to be towering skyscrapers,
some already finished, many thanks to Steve and Kai as they dropped us off home,
in the late afternoon Diana was off to work, so I took a few photographs,
of our aquarium,
and some of the invertebrates in it,
the stone anemones doing well,
as were all of the others,
like these polyps,
and pulse coral,
time for my evening meal, so first a sherry,
and a glass of wine,
and for this evening a prawn salad,
music, for tonight an evening of Enrico Caruso, a book, food and a glass of wine, that is me set up for the evening,
and I am now up to chapter four, later in the evening Steve called round for a chat and a glass of wine, after saying farewell,
I was off through the park,
looking at some of the homes there, as I was off to the bus stop to pick Diana up,
then back home, a nightcap and we were off to bed.
When you look at that picture of the skyscrapers being built and the central column which is probably where the lift shafts go up and down. It is a massively strong construction and then you think about what happened when the twin towers dropped. My question has always been how did the central column collapse. It should have still been standing when everything else fell down that was attached to it. So many questions.
