It Was The Largest Fish Market In The World,

now moved and closed,

in October 2018 when we made a post about the move, the site has now been visited a team of designers that have created an immersive artwork exploring what was once the world’s largest fish market, using thousands of archival photographs,

the artwork, titled Memories of Tsukiji, is the work of three artists: Ruben FroCody Ellingham, and SJFviewing the work it is not unlike footage exploring underwater shipwrecks,

the artwork can be fully appreciated at an exhibition in Tokyo this weekend. Memories of Tsukiji is being shown at ARTnSHELTER, a small art hotel and gallery near Samezu Station, through December 8, 2019 (11am – 8pm). Admission is 1500 yen with tickets available at the door, the video is made using photogrammetry and point cloud technology to scan photos and videos to create the work, what a task it must have been to link all of those still photographs in to a continuous video.
