without some form of eye protection,
which is why bearing that in mind, this image is so totally amazing, this is the highest resolution video of the Sun’s surface
ever taken, above a still from it, The National Solar Observatory (NSO) has published what it's describing as "the
highest resolution observations of the Sun’s surface ever taken." The NSO
was able to capture "features" as small as 18 miles, the furthest
we've been able to zoom in on the star at the center of our solar system, (Image Credit: NSO),
the video "shows the turbulent, 'boiling' gas that
covers the entire sun." the shapes that look like cells are
basically the bubbles that result from heat and plasma moving around as the
sun's energy churns,
each of those "cells" is apparently about the size of Texas, the blue outline above gives an idea of the size of Texas in relation to the size of europe, the video apparently covers
an area 36,500 × 36,500 km (22,600 × 22,600 miles, 51 × 51 arcseconds), how absolutely amazing.
