a couple of days ago we played Monopoly,
but on that occasion I was soundly thrashed, any way on to Saturday, we watched television during the day, and we had another game of Monopoly, again I was thrashed, Diana had 8 hotels in a line starting with the Old Kent Road and ending at Northumberland Avenue, plus all of the stations, I did not even own a set! then for our evening meal, lamb kebabs,
'Cheers!', with a sherry, which is not quite correct, as I am the only person drinking, but there it is,
our main course, baked salmon with peas and mash,
and a glass of wine, or three!
for dessert Steve and Kai knowing that Diana likes peppermint and chocolate some time ago bought Diana some peppermint and chocolate Poppets, which were very nice indeed, many thanks Steve and Kai,
naturally I had to have a Jamaican coffee, we chatted most of the evening away listening to music, then rounded off with one from the Poirot box, we had decided to start with the first and work our way through them, and with the end of that we were off to bed.
Hi Stan & Diana,
ReplyDeleteIt's been a while, how are you? I am presuming from your recent blogs that you are currently back in the UK. Is this permanent or just a holiday?
Are you coping OK with the Coronavirus lockdown OK?
Mocha
Dear Mocha Joe, many thanks for your message, we are fine, and now permanently back in the UK, we moved back for a number of reasons, the main one being that my BUPA health insurance as I approached 70 years old really shot up, also I get the feeling that the happy days were coming to an end, the continual form filling to stay in thailand and keeping 800,000 each in the bank was just too much, so back we came, and have been loving every minuet of it since, as it happens Diana prefers England to Thailand as she just loves the cold! the virus thing is a pain, and I do not think it will be ending any time soon, but we get along well, what with games of Monopoly, cribbage and the television, so far we do not have cabin fever! also of course Diana is in touch with her family a few times every day, best regards, Stan and Diana.
ReplyDeleteThanks for the catch up Stan. I'm not too surprised to hear about your move back to the UK, as from what I read and hear, living in Thailand and Pattaya is not the same as it was. Many ex-pats either moving back home or to other parts of South-East Asia. How about Nick & Maureen? Are they still in Pattaya?
ReplyDeleteI was back there in January and Soi Buakhow very quiet.
Regards,
Mocha Joe
Dear Mocha Joe, you are correct about people leaving, so many of our friends over the past few years have returned to their home countries. Sadness about Nick and Maureen, just as we were leaving Nick was diagnosed with inoperable liver cancer, 3 months at the best before the inevitable, so they like us moved back to the UK, in the move for both them and us we lost all contact details, so we have no further news than that, best regards, Stan and Diana.
