Long Before TheTerm,

'social distancing', became the phrase we keep hearing,

well about 10 years ago as it happens, art director Masashi Kawamura teamed up with Japanese band SOUR to produce a music video for their song hibi no neiro (“tone of everyday”), needless to say, this was before our pandemic, in which millions are staying home due to the coronavirus outbreak, in the video, a cast, selected from the band’s actual fan base, choreograph a perfectly-timed dance that was filmed purely via webcam from locations all over the world, I wonder if any groups today will do the same?

  1. The composer Eric Whitacre did a similar thing with "Virtual Choirs" back about a decade ago, made up of as many as 8000 people who sang and then submitted their parts individually. Then he pasted them all together with computer software.

  2. Dear Jil, I had no idea that it had been done before with so many performers, but I guess in this digital age more will be putting worldwide choirs together, especially with the current lockdown! best regards, Stan and Diana,
