Sunday Seems To Have Arrived Again So Soon,

the week just seems to have flown past,

so on to today, a read with a pre meal sherry,

avocado, prawns and a salad for starters,

 'Cheers!',

 for today roast beef,

 with gravy for Diana,

 without for myself,

between courses Diana noticed the fox in the garden stretched out in the sun,

 a slight change of position,

one of the magpies arrived to eat some of the peanuts,

which promoted the fox to start eating some,

although he then decided to take a break,

I was surprised at how close the magpie let the fox get to him,

I would have thought that the magpie would be a meal for the fox, but apparently not,

next a lie down in the shade,

I think he expected me to throw some more peanuts near him, so he did not have to get up!

 on to desserts,

 a pink Magnum.

I have to say it was not one of our favorite flavours, but at least we gave it a try,

to finish the meal, a glass of port, feet up and listen to some music until the evening,

for our film tonight, Hurricane, or Mission of Honor, as it was later known, a gripping story made all the more so as it was true, in that Polish pilots helped immensely in the Battle of Britain, at first there was a reluctance to allow the Polish airman to man fighters, but at the end of the battle Commander-in-Chief of Fighter Command, Air Chief Marshal Sir Hugh Dowding, who once was so reluctant to allow Polish pilots into battle, summarised their contribution in probably the most telling way: 'Had it not been for the magnificent work of the Polish squadrons and their unsurpassed gallantry, I hesitate to say that the outcome of battle would have been the same'. for Sir Hugh, praise indeed, for a full account of 303 Polish squadron, have a read here at the Imperial War Museum site, we rounded off the evening with the latest Have I Got News For You, then for us we were off to bed.
