Diana Did Not Have To Go To Work,

until late in the afternoon,

so we decided to stop at two places as one was on the way back from the first,

our first stop, a very crowded lavender farm,

the Mayfield  Lavender Farm, 1 Carshalton Rd, Banstead, Woodmansterne, Surrey, SM7 3JA. 07503 877707,

when we first arrived we nearly turned back,

the lavender at the car park entrance did not look that good,

but where we parked it looked fine,

so it was out with the big camera for me,

when I say the place was packed, we had to park as far away from the entrance as you could,

but the good news is that the place is so big,

that you can nearly always fine an area that has no people in the background,

and if you fancy an ice cream, make your way to the big tree,

 back to a few poses,

 in the lavender,

I was a happy snapper!

the forecast was for rain, but luckily for us it held off,

a last look at the ice cream caravan under the big tree and we were off,

for our next stop which was on the way home,

one of the two landmark chimneys at IKEA,

we joined the queue, which although long, we were inside in no time, we wanted to buy a cabinet for the bedroom, 5 items in fact, of which only one was in stock, so delivery for all of them at the end of the month,

no sooner than we arrived home, Diana had a quick change and was off to work, which left me with my pre-meal sherry,

for my meal I had some Waitrose smoked salmon terrine slices, with a avocado,

 'Cheers!',

for dessert a slice of banoffee pie,

 and a glass of wine,

the pie with raspberries and fresh cream, delicious!

I spent the evening listening to music, just before midnight Diana called, so off to the bus stop,

I noticed this on the way,

some one had chopped down one of the huge cherry trees, looking at it what was left, it seemed in good shape with no signs of decay or fungus, perhaps it was a cherry tree rustler? arriving home a coffee and a chat and we were off to bed.
