I Do Not Have A Clue About TikTok,

or Zoom meetings, whatever they are,

but I thought that this was quite good fun, sea shanties have become a thing on TikTok, particularly the song "Soon May the Wellerman Come." Sea shanties are fun to sing, the video sharing platform TikTok makes it easy for people to join in and add their voice to existing videos. When singer Nathan Evans posted his performance of the Wellerman, many others were inspired to contribute their voices. And the meme took off. The song is so infectious, you can't help but sing along, and if you want to here are the words for the song,

There once was a ship that put to sea
And the name of that ship was the Billy o' Tea

Blow, me bully boys, blow (huh)
Soon may the Wellerman come
To bring us sugar and tea and rum
One day, when the tonguing' is done

When down on her a right whale bore
The captain called all hands and swore
He'd take that whale in tow (huh)
Soon may the Wellerman come
To bring us sugar and tea and rum
One day, when the tonguing' is done
We'll take our leave and go
Before the boat had hit the water
The whale's tail came up and caught her
All hands to the side, harpooned and fought her
When she dived down below (huh)
Soon may the Wellerman come
To bring us sugar and tea and

You can hear more of TikTok's sea shanties (ShantyTok) here, apparently the song works best if you have a beard, so that's great for me then!
