time for a read and lunch,
'Cheers!',
for our starters today,
a prawn cocktail, with an international flavour, prawns from Honduras, tomatoes from Spain, spring onions from Greece, celery from the UK,
as I went into the kitchen one of the foxes was back, we had not seen them for a week or so,
I opened the window which woke him up and threw down a few peanuts, he just went back to sleep!
for today we had roast pork,
another 'Cheers!',
for dessert,
a chocolate dusted tiramisu,
we listened to music for a part of the afternoon then it was feet for It Ain't Half Hot Mum, second series, we actually watched all of the second series, so funny and so un PC correct, any snowflakes watching what was just so funny when shown would be rushing for their smelling salts, here is a list of the cast made in 2019, co-writer Jimmy Perry said, a few years ago: 'it’s without doubt the funniest series David Croft and I wrote, pity the British public are now too sensitive to view this comedy, but for us we have the complete 9 DVD set, so that's all right then!
in the evening the Seventh Son, a great all action romp through the middle ages, with a good storyline as well as special effects,
we rounded off the evening with The Shining, for anyone that has not seen the film a man, his son and wife become the winter caretakers of an isolated hotel where Danny, the son, sees disturbing visions of the hotel's past using a telepathic gift known as "The Shining", the father, Jack Torrance, is underway in a writing project when he slowly slips into insanity as a result of cabin fever and former guests of the hotel's ghosts, although named 'The Overlook' in the book and film the hotel is actually called The Stanley Hotel, no not after me, I was not around in 1909! but Stanley of Stanley's Steamers was, in 1903 he purchased 160 acres and began to build, the hotel open in 1909, strangely enough the original version of this film was poorly received in the States so the director cut 24 minuets from it's length before releasing it in Europe, cutting totally the efforts of two actors although their names still appear in the credits, then for us we were off to bed.
