was perhaps one of the greatest British playwrights of all time,
and stared in so many films, including the original The Italian Job, bearing this and the fact that he was such a great playwright in mind I could not believe that Noël Coward had written only one book,
titled Pomp and Circumstance, it was published in 1960, this first edition was offered for sale by Rooke Books,
held in the original, unclipped dust wrapper which was
designed by Coward himself. The cloth to this volume is extremely bright, and
has retained a lovely condition, Coward wrote many plays, songs and musical
theatre works. The setting for this novel is the same island he used for his
play South Sea Bubble. Coward's novel is set in a British colony and is an
insight into life there. It follows Grizel Craigie, and her guest the Duchess of Fowey, it was for sale at just £40.00, which I think was a bargain, as did someone else as it sold literally in the past day or so.
