Today Was A Special Day,

we started our walk to see Steve and Kai,

a quick selfie,

or two first,

and we were on our way,

the trees on route now with their summer foliage,

some gardens on the way also had roses,

in flower,

the rhododendrons now past their best,

when we arrived at Steve and Kai's there was no mistaking what the day was!

originally planned for outside, but the weather was not kind for this weekend,

flowers everywhere,

these from one of the girls gardens,

before we sat down,

cocktails were served,

Phanee and Jeab,

then time to start on the food,

Steve, Steve and myself,

there was so much food, from huge King prawns,

to chicken feet,

that Steve decided to try,

not quite my cup of tea, having said that whilst in Thailand I just loved the chicken feet soup that you could buy from the food stalls,

if you ever go to Thailand, this is the stall to look out for,

and the soup, 

back to the party, chicken feet hot and spicy salad was a great favourite,  

as indeed was this treat,

a durian, 

which was expertly cut up by Linda,

with help from Kai,

the fruit is one of those types of things that divides people into loving or disliking the fruit,

for myself I have tried it on 4 different occasions, and each time disliked it, 

but it was a favourite with everyone else,

Buddy the cat was feeling a little left out of things, so a quick brush which he loves,

Ah!

birthday girl Kai and Diana, many, many thanks to Steve and Kai for all of the effort they put into the party and the help that everyone else did, what a truly special day, after our farewells we arrived home, feet up for a spiced rum, some television and we were off to bed.
