Here Is A Tip, If You Are Thinking Of Buying New Car,

and do not want to receive speeding tickets in the post,

do it now and not next year in 2022, why? because next year all new cars, vans, lorries & buses (and similar vehicles) will be fitted with automatic speed limiters, alongside other new safety devices, yes you read that correctly, every vehicles speed will be monitored! through the use of cameras, GPS and computers, onboard systems will be able to impose limits & restrictions on the power of vehicles as they approach the speed limit, we will differ slightly from the EU law in the deployment of limits. As per Auto Express, for now limiters in the UK will "give drivers feedback when the speed limit is exceeded rather than limiting the speed” as opposed to the ESTC interpretation "If the driver does not apply the brakes [when entering a lower limit], the vehicle would in any case slow down naturally to the new speed limit by reducing engine power.” So there you have it, not that anyone has said this will happen, but it is only a small step to automatically issue a speeding ticket if you exceed the speed limit by too much or for too long, my advice? Buy a new car now if you are thinking of it, before Big Brother in your car starts sending you automatically produced speeding tickets!

  1. As in UK, the USA Federal Government has become the enemy of the citizens. Continued invasion of privacy, poor decisions on spending, corruption all have created a body of force against the common citizens. We continue to pay taxes into a system only to find the money being spent in foreign lands or on special interest. Our folks in Washington DC all need term limits and age limits. Right now we have keys folks older than you and me making the decisions to run the country and don’t believe they have the interest of the people in mind. Each year our country declines and becomes more like a third world country. We continue to borrow from China then give away or spend on invisible items of no account. In the end the entire quality of life has declined. So glad I was able to live and remember a simpler time earlier in country before the Federal Government squeezed the freedom away from those they govern. I guess we will keep our cars forever and just service them so they don’t become another item on can’t enjoy. Dam them!!!

  2. Dear John and Alley, I despair over the UK government, the conservatives that are now in power have become the green party, due in no small measure to Boris marrying Princes Nut-Nut, he totally disregards the fact that some counties have plans to continue to build coalfired power stations, but he expects the UK population to pick up the bill for the CO2 that they produce, rather like all those people that bought a Tessler battery car, conveniently forgetting that it was made in China! just looked it up the last figure for May, it was over 11,000 units exported, funny how so many say do not buy Chinese goods, and then do so! Any way for us we will keep the Jag until it really is too expensive to fill with diesel, best regards, Stan and Diana.
