When Ever We Go Out For A Walk,

I always try to keep on the lookout,

for mushrooms, toadstools and lichens, photographs: all images © Amanda Cobbett, as many of us do, but Amanda Cobbett is blessed with woodlands near her that change almost daily as she walks her dog in the Surrey Hills,

“When you’re out in the forest, it’s the tiny detail that makes me want to be there as much as the bigger picture,” she says,

“It’s really important to take note of these things, because if at some point they disappear, and we don’t know that they exist, how will we know when they’ve gone?”

and that is the thing with the art of Amanda Cobbett,

she is a is a award-winning textile artist with over 25 years’ experience, having taken a photograph of her subject she recreates them in painstaking detail out of thread, paper, papier-mache and silk, what amazing creations they are, I really thought I was looking at the real thing.
