Diana Was On Late Shift Today,

so we had breakfast together,

a Cumberland sausage sandwich with a mug of tea, a great way to start the day,

when it was time to leave we both walked to the bus stop,

another warm day, hardly a cloud in the sky,

I popped off the bus, whilst Diana stayed onboard to continue to work,

it was of course the Lidl stop,

today white wine, ice cream and flowers, I forgot them the last time I was in town,

waiting for the bus home, it appears there was a long wait, and not even a mention of a 354!

as it happens a 354 arrived in a few minutes, so I was soon walking through the park,

out with the sun lounger, and, you guessed it, the sky clouded over a wind picked up and it got a tad chilly, I listened to some of my old favorite radio shows,

I have mentioned them before, it was hosted by its namesake Kenneth Horne, this is what I wrote then,

"the show is called Round the Horne, each actor plays various roles, but the two most popular always seemed to be"

"Julian and Sandy, played by Hugh Paddick and Kenneth Williams respectively, both were in the show playing a couple of camp out-of-work actors, at the time of the shows male homosexuality was illegal in the UK, laws meant that any male homosexual could be arrested by the police, this led to the development of a secret language so that gay men could converse without being understood in front of straight members of the community similar to Cockney rhyming slang, the language was called Polari, it was widely used by the British gay community from the 1900s to the 1970s, it meant that there was a show within a show in which the producers of it the BBC did not know what they were broadcasting! but back to the show, Lipharvest Of The River, is a typical show of the era, if you listen to it I hope you enjoy it as much as I do, it will take a a few moments to download if your Internet connection is a slow as mine, but remember these shows were made a long time before we all became PC which I guess is why I find them so funny!"

all performed in front of a studio audience and I really do find shows like this really funny, when there were no snowflakes around,

after a couple of shows I made a move upstairs for my evening sherry and read,

last night poached salmon, tonight smoked salmon, well they say fish is brain food!

'Cheers!',

for my main course chicken chow mien,

eyes down and tuck in,

followed by raspberry ripple ice cream, then an date with Bond, James Bond,

in The Living Daylights, great fun as any Bond movie should be, as it ended Diana arrived home, so it was feet up for a coffee and a chat with a episode of Silent Witness before we were off to bed.
