We Both Forgot To Take The Chicken Out Of The Freezer,

so we had plenty of time for a pre-lunch walk in the park,

and again I took too many photographs, so there will only be this one post today, as we left Diana found a tennis ball,

somebody must have had a really wild shot for it to arrive here,

Diana decided to show me how she could bounce and catch the ball.

with varying degrees of success,

and here is the video,

we continued our walk,

as we neared the blackberries,

Diana stopped to take a photograph of them,

meanwhile I found these, thistles,

but the heads were so heavy they were horizontal,

we walked towards Westgate Road,

and then a choice of three pathways,

we choose the one that went by what was once the Foxgrove club,

it seems a shame to let this building fall into disrepair, it could make a lovely café for park goers, but Lewisham council knows best,

we stopped for a couple of photographs,

the mansion house in the distance,

well,

I just had too!

and one more from Diana,

I have no idea what this tree died from,

old age? but it does not look that big,

it was a glorious day,

and luckily for us,

the clouds missed us,

in the distance,

the mansion,

we were both a tad thirsty, so to the café it was then, when I noticed this bush,

which had blue berries fruiting on it,

we passed the formal garden,

and clock tower,

and went into the courtyard,

Diana joined the queue to order her bubble tea,

I grabbed a table that became vacant,

Diana as thoughtful as ever went to the bar as her tea was being made,

and here she is,

and a mini bubbly,

what a lovely way to spend some time,

we took more than a few photographs,

we had a table with an umbrella, which was nice as Diana could sit in the shade whilst I enjoyed the sun,

time to open the bubbly,

which had a screw top bottle,

so twist and pour, 'Cheers!',

the last of the bottle,

and we were off to the Sunday market,

depending what is on and what shift Diana is working we might go to one of the sunset screenings before summer ends,

a quick pose,

before we walked up to the market,

lots of food stalls,

this one selling food from Indonesia,

more food stalls here, 

but this was the stall that grabbed my attention,

selling flowers and plants,

so many different varieties,

and then I saw these,

blue thistles, I mentioned them the last time we visited Coolings, they had plants for sale there, and here are the flowers,

we made a move for home,

although more clouds were rolling through,

it was still bright and sunny,

as we passed the lovely houses in the park,

arriving home it was time for a read and a sherry,

before tucking into our starter,

for today smoked salmon on avocado with sliced spring onions,

next open the bubbly,

easy does it,

and 'pop',

a glass each,

'Cheers!',

for our main course roast chicken,

with gravy for Diana,

sans gravy for myself,

for dessert,

a chocolate éclair with Cornish ice cream topped with half cherries, after listening to some music we watched a bit of the British Grand Prix, the cars followed each other round and round, until we were bored to tears, we then decided on,

Octopussy, which was much more fun, as an aside the octopus mentioned in the film does actually exist, 

photograph Yusran Abdul Rahman/Shutterstock, the name ‘blue-ringed octopus' (Hapalochlaena) does not actually refer to a single species, but rather a genus of species, all with the circular, iridescent blue markings for which they are named, these markings are certainly very beautiful and striking to look at, however they are only displayed when the octopus is about to dispense its deadly poison, size differs between species, but they range from four to six centimeters long, with arms reaching lengths of seven to ten centimeters, the group is named for the iridescent blue markings that dot their bodies; however these are usually only seen when the octopus feels threatened and is about to attack, this change in colour is due to pigment cells known as chromatophores, they, along with all other octopuses, have eight arms which are attached around their mouth, these arms have rows of broad, muscular suckers, and its mouth packs a powerful punch, at roughly the size of a golf ball the creature has enough venom to kill 10 people, when it bites a toxin in its saliva attacks the chemicals that tell your mussels to work, causing them to relax, so breathing, heart beats and anything else that uses mussels in your body slowly at first, then more rapidly stops working, the worst of it is you brain continues to function as normal, but in panic mode! clearly a case of look and do not touch,

in the evening a Sci-Fi, we had watched the film before this is what I wrote then,' Mortal Engines, what a special effect feast, we really both enjoyed the thundering rolling cites, and the robot Shrike was suitably scary dairy! after which we watched a Silent Witness before we were off to bed.
