Sunday Dawned Bright And Sunny,

some of the orchids were putting on a good show,

the flower spike on this one,

almost fully open,

whilst this one was still in full flower,

and looking nice,

the flower spike on one of the succulents was almost 15" tall,

with pretty pink flowers,

time for a read and a sherry,

spring rolls for our starter,

'Cheers!',

for today a smoked gammon ham, with gravy for Diana sans gravy for myself,

eyes down and tuck in,

for dessert a raspberry trifle, just what is needed on a hot sunny Sunday afternoon,

then bit of a teat, whilst in Wing Yip last week we saw some of these, fortune cookies, we had often seen mention of them on the television and in films based in America, but had never seen them for sale here, until our shopping trip,

I have to say the first one was a bit of a disappoint, just a soft soggy piece of dough, but the second one was nice and crisp as it should be, in the evening we watched a couple of Columbo's, rounding the evening off with a Endeavor before we were off to bed.

  1. Dear Stanley and Diana
Many years ago I went with a customer group to a Chinese Restaurant for dinner. We enjoyed the meal and a few drinks with a visit. At the end of the dinner, one of the folks requested we each open and read the fortune inside our cookie- he also said at the end of the fortune sentence add “while in bed”. We each read the fortune with added in bed. We all laughed hard at all the new meanings. Fun for a group at dinner. Every since that night when we get fortune cookies we always add the in bed. Lots of fun and laughs! You both should try it!

  2. Dear John and Alley, many thanks for the tip, the next time we have Sunday lunch we will apply the phrase, as it happens I can not remember what our cookies said, but looking forward to Sunday to try the “while in bed”, best regards, Stan and Diana.
