A Walk To The 227 Bus Stop,

before our Sunday lunch,

we wrapped up warm,

it was still a tad chilly,

even though most of the snow had disappeared,

past the skating rink,

which was proving quite popular,

as we neared the church,

there it was, we were taking part in the Annual Heritage Day to the 227 bus,

any second now,

and one of the old faithful's rounded the corner,

the bus had a slight lean to the left, well it had a few miles and years on it!

all set,

and we were onboard, and receiving our tickets,

the sounds brought back so many memories, the distinctive thump of the diesel engine, and even more so this,

the cord that you pulled to ring the bell to alert the driver to stop, such a wonderful 'ding', it brought back so many memory's of halcyon days, when in the school summer holidays that I spent with my grandparents, Nan and myself would take one of these buses, some food and drink and go out for a day of adventure,

Diana covered up for the cold,

scarf removed,

we were soon at our journeys end in Bromley,

as the bus made a 'U' turn for the return journey to Crystal Palace,

and here is a short video that Diana made of our trip in the RF bus, for a more personal look at the bus have a look here, for myself it is just so wonderful that people keep some of our fast disappearing heritage running, and bring pleasure to both young and old,

we walked from Bromley North bus and train station into town,

not many people about, but it was raining and a tad chilly,

we had to have a pose in the market square,

in a Christmas parcel,

and of course one by the tree, we picked up a few bits and pieces of shopping,

arriving home it was time for our Sunday lunch, starting with a read and a sherry,

and a pate, toast and salad starter,

'Cheers!',

and another one,

as Diana served our main course, today chicken, with gravy for Diana,

sans gravy for myself,

then out of the oven, apple strudel,

with cream, delicious!

eyes down and tuck in!, after our meal we watched a couple of Midsomer Murders back to back,

followed by Knowing, the world as we know it is about to end, in the fall of 1959, for a time capsule, students draw pictures of life as they imagine it will be in 50 years, Lucinda, an odd child who hears voices, swiftly writes a long string of numbers, when the capsule is opened the numbers spell out what will happen next, it is a case of knowing, superb special effects,

then we watched the start of a new series Wednesday, it was so good we watched 4 episodes back to back!, well Danny Elfman + Tim Burton, what a winning combination! by now it was late, so for us we were off to bed.
