When Is A Ferrari Not A Ferrari?

when it is a Toyota!

photographs Guardia di Finanza Asti, in Asti, Italy, police were a bit concerned that a car did not quite look right, the red Ferrari featured all of the iconic elements of the F430, the prancing horse logo on the bonnet and steering wheel, the rims, brake callipers and iconic headlights, but something about the vehicle seemed wrong,

it is unclear whether the motorist had the necessary documents to prove that his car was a genuine Ferrari F430 or not, but the police officers called a team of experts just to be sure. They confirmed that the car was actually a modified Toyota MR Coupé, the deception was that good that it even featured original Ferrari parts and accessories, making that much harder to notice that it was actually a Toyota, but there lies the problem, the car or perhaps I should say owner was trying to deceive using the Ferrari name, and that you cannot do,

Italian news media reported that the car was seized and the owner reported to the Public Prosecutor’s Office of Asti for using registered trademarks without authorization, I am guessing if the owner had not used any Ferrari badges or logos, or kept the Toyota ones all would have been well, but who knows?
