Diana was at home for the day,
I started Sunday lunch with a read, another short story from Labyrinths by Jorge Francisco Isidoro Luis Borges Acevedo, titled The Circular Ruins, there is a summary and analysis of it here, again I have to say not the easiest of reads, but there it is,
for our starters today mussels in a white wine sauce,
followed by a roast chicken, with all of the trimmings,
'Cheers!',
and for dessert, sticky toffee pudding with cream and ice cream,
delicious,
we would then normally watch a few from Columbo to while away the Sunday afternoon, but the one that was about to start, we had watched before, so Cutthroat Island it was then, the precursor to the Pirates of the Caribbean franchise, it was remarkably good, the battle scenes where two ships are giving each other broadsides looked as you would expect to see it happen, followed by a Columbo we had not watched before, after which we settled down to a couple of A Touch of Frost before we were off to bed.
