this must be pretty high on the list,
photograph screen shot Facebook Marz Gure, the phenomena is located approximately 100 kilometres from the city of Cusco,
near the well-known Palcoyo Rainbow Mountain, the red river is known as
Palquella Pucamayu by the locals in Peru’s Vilcanota mountain range, most
of the year, Palquella Pucamayu is a muddy-brown colour,
but in the rainy season, (December – April), because the colour of the water is directly influenced by the level of precipitation, large
quantities of soil rich in iron oxide are carried down from mountains and color
the water bright red, unlike a number of rivers and other attractions that have
been photo shopped, this is the real thing, but the rainy season is not the
best time to trek through the Vilcanota mountain range, but if you want to
witness the blood-red waters of Palquella Pucamayu in person, there is no
better time, well the trek through the jungle will make the effort seem all the
more worthwhile!
