Sunday, Part 2,

they burst out from the skies behind us,

with a thunderous roar,

the Red Arrows, had arrived on the scene,

the coloured smoke leaving trails in the sky,

turning out to sea,

they passed the pier in close formation,

what a sight!

we have been looking forward to their performance for so long,

the show unfolded before our eyes,

much to the delight of us,

and the crowd,

the team performing as only they know how,

going through evolutions in their display,

back past the pier,

a different formation this time,

a swirl of coloured smoke took our attention,

as two jets broke way,

the rest performing a upward sky burst,

two of the team then faced each other,

head on parallel to the shore,

a team of 5 reformed,

smoke on,

as they passed,

and turned,

some of the jets had been busy manoeuvring to be just in the correct place,

to start,

the manoeuvre the crowd loves,

a giant heart, and it was giant!

we were enthralled, as another death defying show started,

two aircraft raced at breakneck speed towards each other,

no matter how many times we watch this we are always amazed at the skill of all involved,

another high speed turn,

as the flight reformed,

another head on,

which was close,

but not as close as the next!

five jets reformed,

smoke on,

as this time from right to left,

they performed a barrel roll along the seafront,

spellbinding,

the from far out to sea, the group reappeared,

it was the grande finale,

as the arrows burst towards the crowd,

and split,

what a show! we both so enjoyed it,

so next to the hotel,

we booked into our room,

our view out of our window,

Diana takes the pose,

we were both hungry,

leaving our hotel behind, we made for Harry Ramsden's, for a fish supper,

which was packed, before we sat down we were told it would be 30 minutes before our food would arrive,

which was not a problem for us, it was nice that they had told us as a matter of fact,

a bottle of red,

'Cheers!', as our meal arrived,

medium cod and chips with garden peas for both of us,

plus a extra portion of onion rings,

a gherkin each and a shared sausage,

it looked and was delicious,

so eyes down and tuck in,

meal over we were out, the bill came to £68.00,

we walked away from the pier,

the beach now emptying,

if you stayed here you wold have had a great view of the air show,

we made our way to where the fireworks will be,

a illuminated sign,

with this message,

it was getting darker by the minute

the crowd joining in with the songs the DJ was playing,

then the show started,

and what a show,

we both love fireworks, and this one was non-stop,

the only thing that spoilt the show was that someone had forgotten to turn off the blindingly bright sign,

but thankfully,

many of the burst,

opened away from it,

although I think that was more by luck than judgement,

in any event it was a great firework display,

and it was free,

so a big well dome to the organisers,

as it happens the show went on longer than we both expected,

which was nice,

then the closing huge bursts,

that almost filled the sky,

amazing!

we turned to make our way back to the hotel,

we were soon by the entrance to the pier,

opposite our hotel,

Diana has a quick pose on the stairs, what a great day,

and it was not over, I had a date with a good friend, Captain Morgan!

and the evening was not over yet, blues and twos arrived on the scene at the pier, I guess a few people had too much sun!

I mentioned in the last post I wold make a short video, and here it is, it is a bit shaky in places, but I still enjoyed making it, I hope you enjoy it too, a few from the air show and a few from the fireworks, we had a great time at Eastbourne and are looking forward to next years show, you never know we may see you there! after nightcap or three we were then off to bed.
