Regular Readers Will Know,

that we boarded the Waverley,

in September this year, I took this photograph on the day we went for a steam down to Southend-on-Sea,

it looked like this after I played with it, but the point of this post is that we did not make it back, Tower Bridge broke so we had to return from Gravesend by train, well the problem with Tower Bridge has been sorted, the bolts that lock in place the moving parts of the bridge, known as bascules, when it is lowered to allow traffic and pedestrians to cross the 129-year-old structure have been replaced, My London had a look inside the bridge when reporter Adam Toms was invited down to see the work,

image: James Manning/PA Wire, and this seems to be the problem as engineers insert a new 'nose bolt', for a full look at the article have a look here, hopefully all will be well for the next hundred years or so!
