we will be out later in the day,
first a read and a sherry,
followed by vegetable spring rolls, 'Cheers!',
for our main course, roast pork, with gravy for Diana,
sans gravy for myself,
eyes down and tuck in, we did not have a dessert,
after a Columbo we were out,
it looked like a nice evening,
but as we neared the station rain clouds were rolling in,
on to the platform,
and on to the train, where Steve and Kai joined us at Kent House, we then caught a bus to Albert Bridge,
which looked splendid with its lights on,
time for a pose,
or two,
we walked towards, then on the bridge,
I should have mentioned the traffic was horrendous, non stop brake lights as traffic queued away from the bridge,
the bridge was closed to traffic,
so one of me!
the traffic towards the bridge was nose to tail as well,
as we walked into the park the local pub was doing good business,
for the girls a frappé and hot chocolate,
for Steve and myself a beer,
followed by, you guessed it chips,
which it has to be said were pipping hot and delicious,
the girls were still hungry, so a pizza it was,
which they took around the park with them,
Diana made this short video of their walk,
I started taking a few photographs,
of the other attractions,
the equivalent of the Ghost House I expect,
and naturally a roundabout,
I made my way to the front of the rides,
all the fun of the fair!
I meet up with the gang as they were queueing for another hot chocolate,
I did not fancy one, then time for the start of the fireworks, which for us did not go to plan, we followed the one sign we saw and arrived in a area under the trees,
the fireworks started,
but we like hundreds of others could only see them behind a cover of leaves,
the problem was it was so much of a crush,
we could not turn back,
and as it was a dead end we could not go forward,
the show itself was enjoyable, we all just wished the signage was better so we could have had a uninterrupted view,
the grand finale,
Diana made this video of the fireworks,
we made our way to Chelsea Bridge, we decided on taking the train instead of a bus due to the crowds, so into Victoria, and then out again to Kent House first, saying our goodbyes to Steve and Kai, then Beckenham Junction for ourselves, arriving home feet up for a nightcap, Diana was the off to bed as she has a early start for tomorrow and as it happens the rest of the week, for myself a Endeavour, before I too was off to bed.
