Another Look At The Bangkok Fish Market,

as we had a quiet day,

so on with video 5, in this video we went to another shop specializing in fancy goldfish, but this time in aquariums so they can be viewed from the side, I should say the shops are rather haphazard,

next to the goldfish shop one selling aquatic plants, the next selling aquarium ornaments, followed by one selling Siamese Fighting Fish, (Betta splendens), all of the fish in individual plastic bags or mini aquariums, because, well they fight! The shop nextdoor sells aquatic plants but for vivarium’s, the plants are kept damp by water spraying on them but they are not submerged, typically they are attached to pieces of bog wood and then sold,

we finally in this video come to a shop selling coloured sand,

 gravel and glass beads,

another purchase made,

as were a few others,

this travelling stall a welcome sight,

fresh iced pineapple, so refreshing! in the evening we were out, Diana was treating us to a meal,

so it was glad rags on and off to Miller & Carter,

Diana had reserved a table, we walked past their impressive selection of wines,

and were given a table near the tree,

'Cheers!',

our starters arrived, a slow-cooked pulled pork doughnut with BBQ beef dripping sauce for Diana,

for myself sautéed scallops, pea purée, pan-seared chorizo topped with samphire,

well I just had to have another 'Cheers!',

our main courses arrived,

for Diana two 5oz cuts of fillet mignon, topped with a grilled lobster tail, both of our main courses coming with a side salad and choice of potatoes,

for myself black Angus filet mignon, two 5oz cuts of fillet,

we also ordered a mac & cheese, garlic button mushrooms, and sautéed greens, what a feast!

I was so full I declined the dessert, but Diana went for a mini crème brûlée,

with a latté coffee,

it looked so nice,

Diana gave me a spoon to try, the small spoon naturally! many thanks indeed for Diana treating us to a Christmas meal, arriving home it was feet up for a spiced rum nightcap or three! we watched a couple of Midsomer Murders on ITVX, as we will be busy, and as I guess everyone else will be over the next few days, we will only be making one post a day,

Merry Christmas! and with that we were off to bed.
