It Was The So Last Century Event,

at the mansion today,

so we thought we would have a walk through the leaves to the event,

as it happens it started to lightly drizzle,

as we passed the snail mail box,

it was the weekly farmers market too,

through the gates that stop cars at this point,

on the left the trees in the 'wild' area now starting to look a tad bigger than last year,

we were soon at the event,

a Citroen converted to a food stall, this brand of van always seems to be at events like these,

the Christmas kids fair not yet up and running,

a look at what was on offer at the Wise Choice Flowers and Plants stall,

not many plants or flowers this week,

but lots of wreaths for your home,

I still can not work out why these Citroens are so popular with the fast food vendors,

as always a cheese stall,

and to go with it a bread stall next door,

not so many food stalls as usual, and a bit of a disappointment as the stall that sells cakes was not here, we had planned on buying a couple for today's dessert,

but plenty of stalls selling items from the last century,

hoods up and umbrellas out as the drizzle turned to rain,

already many of the stalls had their goods covered in plastic,

it was a horrible day for the stall holders,

many had reduced the items on sale to keep them dry,

a last look before we went inside,

and were greeted by this display of lights,

into one of the rooms with second-hand clothes,

and glassware,

more lights,

this stall had the most amazing collection of coffee percolators,

or items to brew tea in,

three tables full of them!

lots of original maps,

and more clothes,

we made our way out of the mansion, the kids funfair opposite,

a look back at the mansion as we made our way through the rain and home,

for a read and a sherry before lunch, onto our starters,

and what a treat,

a half lobster each with breaded shrimp and prawns along with prawn rolls,

'Cheers!',

eyes down and tuck in,

we also had a home made chilly sauce made by Steve who used his home grown peppers to make it,

stop playing with your food as my mother would say!

on to our main course,

roast beef, all of which was delicious, we did not have a dessert,

so on to putting the last bubbles on the tree,

Diana made the tree look so nice,

then time to wrap presents,

it is really starting to be Christmas,

the time of the years we both love,

unknown to Diana I had already wrapped her presents up, so I brought them downstairs where I had hidden them, naturally cries of 'can I open one now?' we then watched a Columbo,

followed by one from The Adventure of Sherlock Holmes,

then time for a evening snack as we did not have a dessert, Diana had bought a couple of cheeses,

add a few other bits and pieces,

and that will do nicely! we then watched a Midsomer Murder before Diana was off to bed, another early start tomorrow, for myself,

The Unbearable Weight of Massive Talent, starring Nicolas Cage and Pedro Pascal, I have to say after 15 minutes or so I was thinking of looking at another movie, but then it started to get better, so OTT, but it ended up good fun, after which I too was off to bed.
