Diana popped out to visit Wilma,
I stayed at home and made part 8 of our trip around the Bangkok live
fish market we are now in flowerhorn alley, there are some 30 or 40 shops in this
section, all selling flowerhorns, I should say the adults are very aggressive,
one fish per aquarium, but they can be kept together when young, in one aquarium
it looks like a pair of fish which I guess the shop owner hopes will breed, I
am then standing in the ‘cross road’ of the flowerhorn alleys, some of the fish
here are deformed, but these are kept and can sometimes be highly prized, whilst
in the last shop some routine maintenance was taking place,
it had stopped raining,
so I decided to take a walk in the park,
the residents have yet again paid to have the road smoothed,
in the distance the small car park full to overflowing,
as these 3 cars found out as they did not find a place and are continuing to search for a parking spot,
Westgate Road, as usual in the winter it looks like the Somme, in the summer a dust bowl, Bromley council collects rates from all of us, but do not spend a penny on maintaining the roads where we live, I guess the money goes on inflated salaries and gold plated pensions, it certainly does not get spent here on the roads near or in the park,
in the distance the mansion,
I walked past what was once the Foxgrove Club,
Steve and myself were members here, it was such a nice place to visit, but for whatever reason the club finished whilst Diana and myself were living in Thailand, such a shame as the building is now in need of urgent repairs,
a little about Foxgrove,
a new pond has formed due to the rain,
normally there is hardly any water here,
in the distance the fair,
opposite the mansion,
back through the gates that stop cars from entering,
as I neared the snail mail box there were so many people about, and I was lucky, just as I walked into the drive the rain started, I could not have planned it better! a few hours later Diana returned home with some shopping, some bratwurst sausages and rolls, so we had a few of those for our evening meal with lashings of fried onions, yummy! after which we watched a couple of quiz shows and a Poirot, we had watched this one before but it was such a long time ago it was nice to watch it again, we then watched a couple of films, starting with,
the Seventh Son, a great all action romp through the middle ages, with a good storyline as well as special effects,
we rounded off the evening with Solomon Kane, we had watched it before, but was still enjoyable to watch again, this is what I wrote the first time we watched it, 'vowing never to fight or kill again to save his soul he tries to save a kidnapped victim by a cult, to help her he must fight the devil to save his soul, lots of action and pretty gory in some places, but enjoyable never the less', after which we were off to bed.
