that recycling is a bit of a con,

"The big recyclable plastic lie EXPOSED: Major plastic producers have known for decades that recycling products was neither economically or practically possible."

so there you have it, recycling in this case of plastic in a big con! worse still it has been known about since 1986 according to this letter below, 

the Vinyl Institution (VI), which represents vinyl plastic manufacturers, stated in a 1986 report that 'recycling cannot be considered a permanent solid waste solution, as it merely prolongs the time until an item is disposed of', about 32 percent of Americans currently recycle, but 72 percent of products end up in landfills - only nine percent are actually recycled, I do not know the figures for the UK, but I guess they are similar, to view the full article have a look here, what a con we are being fed!
