Oh Dear,

another day of only one post, 

we were out for the day with Steve, Kai and Phanee, and as usual I took way too many photographs,

and this is where we are going, Tulleys Tulip Fest, 

the address is Tulleys Tulip Fields, Turners Hill Road, Turners Hill, Crawley, West Sussex, (closest post code for Sat Nav RH10 4PD), more details here, on their contact page,

looking back the car park filling up, when you order tickets you are given a time slot, prices are Adult (14+) from £10.00 to £12.00 plus £3.00 booking fee,

time to start the photo fest!

beside it a display of tulips,

once inside the grounds a hay wagon, 

and here is Phanee, Steve and myself, we are all wrapped up, it was not exactly cold, but when the wind blew it was decidedly chilly, 

all around you could not mistake the Dutch influence, 

in the main area, 

there were displays of potted tulips you could buy,

£14.95 a medium pot or £19.95 for a large pot, 

well I just had to!

inside a coffee shop,

I grabbed a coffee, 

and was soon joined by Kai,

and Steve, 

with foot long sausage rolls,

next another few poses, 

next to a very old Ford truck,

the legend on the door stating that Tulleys was founded in 1911, 

one more before we started on our walk,

past one of the windmills, 

and the food section,  

where there was not one Citroen van converted to sell food,

but two!

these vans get everywhere, 

there was a lovely aroma in the air, 

from a open pit fire, 

where you could roast marshmallows,

Diana and Steve,

we were greeted by row after row of tulips,

in the distance a Love Arch, 

and here she is, 

looking to the right,

and left, 

so many tulips,

so time for a pose, 

and where better than in a field of tulips?

it was amazing, 

at the varieties, 

in case you can not make it now there are rows of tulips that have not flowered yet, 

and not just the usual tulips are here, some like these have totally different petals than the normal tulip,

and so many colours, these just reds and pinks,

in the distance rows of yellows,

to say the event is popular is a understatement, so if you want to avoid the crowds try a early midweek spot,

rather like the lavender farm we visited last year, there are a number of tractors, benches and wheelbarrows to pose by,

it was windy, 

I carried on,

snapping away at the rows of flowers,

well,

I just had to!

some rows as I mentioned still not yet flowering,

I took a panorama of this part of the field,

the field slopping away from me,

on my right, 

one of the windmills in the distance,

I was in the central pathway through the field,

I turned around and walked towards a few different coloured rows,

with tulips,

that had two coloured petals,

like these,

and caught up with the gang,

these troubadours wandered around the site, 

entertaining the visitors, 

Diana and Phanee, 

back amongst the flowers,

Phanee,

and a wind swept Diana,

a few more, 

for the album,

before we went for a snack,

as an aside the blurb states that there are 500,000 tulips here,

and here we are back in one of the food tents, Phanee was hungry!

and Diana went with one of these, 

a hot chocolate, 

with marshmallows and a chocolate flake,

time for another pose, 

amongst the potted tulips,

as we returned to the fields, 

the sun came out,

so time for, 

a few more poses, the girls were off, Steve and myself waiting for them,

when Steve was approached by a family, 

and asked to have their photographs taken,

when the girls returned,

a pose on the bridge form Diana,

 we then made our way to the shop and exit, 

or tulip boutique as it was called, 

another very old car, on it the legend, 

the prices were £1.50 each stem, 10 for £12.50 or 20 for £20.00, 

lots to choose from,

but we decided against any today, 

outside in the potted tulips for sale, 

some more with different coloured petals to the normal ones,

put it down in case you drop it!

after a short drive, we came to a aquatic centre,

so we had to stop and have a look, 

outside a nice couple of water falls,

inside some water features,

our next stop, a late lunch at the Eden Park Toby, 

we had telephoned ahead and snagged a late table, cokes for Steve, Kai and Diana, a wine for myself,

a Sex on the Beach for Phanee, 

we were all hungry, 

we were lucky, only a couple of people in the queue in front of us,

some of everything please,

Diana had made her choice, 

'Cheers!',

Kai, 

and Diana, we were so full, 

but some how made room for one of these, 

well we shared a dessert, 

a Honeycomb Dream Sundae, dairy ice cream and crunchy honeycomb pieces drizzled with toffee and Belgian chocolate sauces, topped with a Cadbury® Flake and a wafer,

Steve, Kai and Phanee did the same with a Cookie Dough Sundae, chocolate chip cookie dough chunks mixed in with dairy ice cream, drizzled with toffee and Belgian chocolate sauces, finished with a wafer, our part of the bill came to £49.00, 

Steve then drove us home, on the way so many cherry trees in flower, dropping off Phanee on the way and then called in for a coffee, after they left Diana had a snooze as she is up early tomorrow, after a few ZZZZ's, it was time for our film one we had watched before, 

 Now You See Me 2, 

here is perhaps the most famous pub in Greenwich, as it was used in Now You See Me II, it was so nice to see so many parts of Greenwich and London used in the film that we had visited, all to a chorus of 'been there!', followed by 'been there!' and with the end of that we were off to bed.
