We Have Often Featured Watches On Our Blog,

but as far as I can remember,

photographs via Wallpaper, this is the first time we have featured a book about one specific watch company and just one of their styles, the book is titled Submarine – The Watch that Unlocked the Deep, featuring the Rolex watch of that name, Submarine, it is offered in a silk binding,

the author is Nicholas Foulkes, who is a Historian, Editor, Journalist and Author of around 40 books, many on watches,

the book runs to 252 pages with 256 illustrations,

from Bill Prince, Editor-in-Chief, Wallpaper, ‘Since its inception over a century ago, Rolex has defined the steady progress made by the wristwatch to become the essential lifestyle accessory that it is today. The Submariner represents the essence of this design-led approach, its emblematic features and quintessential appearance sculpted over decades by those pioneers who led the field in underwater exploration and continue to illuminate our world beneath the waves, many of whom are featured in this richly illustrated book, meticulously researched and beautifully realized, Oyster Perpetual Submariner – The Watch that Unlocked the Deep is an essential companion for anyone interested in the creation and evolution of a masterpiece in precision timekeeping.’

I should point out that this edition, the silk bound one, is only available at Wallpaper,

so to treasure this book, the first in a series about Rolex watches, go to Wallpaper here, and the price? £100.00.
