Day 12,

07.00 AM pick up,

and I was on my way to Koh Chang, past Terminal 21,

with its full sized aircraft on display,

first stop for everyone to stretch their legs,

the mini coach I was on,

no prizes for guessing which way the wind blows most of the time!

the journey from Pattaya to the pier for the ferry to Koh Chang takes about 5 hours,

all set to drive on, but it was not to be, this one was soon filled,

it must be the low season, when it is busy all of these lanes are full,

a look at one of the retired ferries,

the ferries pass mid channel,

on to the ferry,

in no time the mini coach was driving off,

past the temple at the top of the hill,

many are tempted to hire a motorcycle here,

but be warned the roads are steep with lots of twisty bits,

and this is where I was booked into Bamboo @ Koh Chang

into the reception and booked in,

as I walked outside I was greeted with the pool, which was crystal clear,

my room on the ground floor,

just past the pool the entrance to the beach,

the towel on the bed was a nice touch,

the view from my room,

I went outside looking back to my room,

the pool,

and the entrance to the beach,

on the beach looking to the left,

and right,

and back to the pool,

if you get lost on the beach this is the entrance to look for,

I took a table in the restaurant,

and celebrated my arrival with a beer,

and some prawns on sticks,

I started walking along the beach,

taking photographs,

of different resorts beach fronts,

then a walk through one,

to the road,

passing a few fish as I went,

Beach Road,

I passed a few resorts,

if you do not want to walk through a resort to the beach, there is a public entrance to the beach,

but if the tide is in it is wet feet time!

I walked along a tad,

then turned back going back to the road,

where I spotted this, a immaculate Honda Super Cub, I thought it had been restored, but it is of course a brand new one!

all of the usual beach stores on the road,

as well as cocktail bars,

resorts and restaurants,

and more bars,

it was up this hill where we stayed before in Paddy's Palms, now no longer open,

one of the many travel agents on the road,

looking through one of the bars, there are more behind,

I started back,

looking at some of the other resorts,

the sign?

here it is,

the jungle comes right down to the road, but this year one thing is missing, monkeys, 6 or 7 years ago they were everywhere and aggressive too, now not one, thank goodness,

we had fond memories of a Indian restaurant but that was gone, but in the distance,

I spotted this one, maybe try it one evening,

I made my way back,

looking at other bats and hotels,

and guest houses,

in the reception of my hotel I spotted this,

so I booked a trip,

above the details of where I stayed,

all that walking had given me a thirst!

in the evening back out,

for a walk,

past a few restaurants,

I mentioned a Indian restaurant Diana and myself liked on our last visit here, well I think this is where it was,

on the the beach,

for a cocktail under the moon,

a fire show had started,

as I settled down for a few red wines and a pork chop,

there was seafood on offer too,

the beach illuminated with lanterns,

a beer on the way,

and into my hotel,

for a read on the balcony before I was off to bed.
