I Had A Quiet Day,

looking in so many folders and files,

for photographs, I even found a few I had forgotten about! and then playing with a few, these are couple of the hawks,

that we saw when we went to Willows Birds of Prey Center, it was a great day out to say the least, during the day and evening Diana kept me informed of the walks she was doing, it was supposed to be a couple of relaxing days out, it sounds more like a hike over the moors followed by a different hike over the moors! not my cup of tea at all, after my evening meal a Outback Opal Hunters and a Deadliest Catch, then a bit of a treat, a Midsomer Murder was being shown that I had not watched for literally years, and I still did not figure out who done it! then I just had to have one more episode of the Borgias before I was off to bed.

I Have A Few Days By Myself,

a bit more of that later,

Diana had already left as I made my way into another glorious day,

we are going to visit Rainham Steve on Sunday, so a couple of railway tickets for the day, but first I had to renew our 'Two Travel Together' card, £35.00 per year, but when we do travel together we receive a 30% discount on the original fare, so just one trip to the coast and it has paid for itself, into the station and 2 return tickets purchased £50.00 for both of us return,

then past the green,

and nearly at the church,

before crossing to M & S to buy some evening meals for the next 2 days,

back into the park under a cloudless sky,

arriving home it was time to top up the ink in my printer, such a change from the expense of the old cartridges, the liquid ink is literally 7 times the quantity of the old cartridges, 7ml as opposed to 70ml, also the old cartridges were for 4 inks a tad over £65.00, the new ones, well they have risen since I last bought them, but still at £82.00 for all 6 inks, so much more economic than the old ones,

all I have to do is open the bottle match it to the colour, turn it upside down insert it and wait, as it makes a nice glug, glug, glug sound until the reservoir is filled, you can not over fill it, thankfully,

I then heard form Diana she and her workmates had arrived in Lynmouth

this where they are staying the Blue Ball Inn

it is on the edge of Exmoor,

so plenty of walks on the moors, as I mentioned to Diana be wary of the marsh areas, and if you hear a dog howl, remember the Baskervilles! for myself I played with trying to collate all of the photographs I had played with, it sounds ridiculous, but so many I have spent some time on, and then saved them, but where? they were all over the place, so I made a new folder and started tracking them down, a ongoing job for tomorrow, after my evening meal the usual Outback Opal Hunters and a Deadliest Catch, before I transported myself in time back to,

The Borgias, set from 1492, the year Rodrigo Borgia becomes Pope Alexander VI the series takes you through period of the late 15th and early 16th centuries in Italy, I had a Borgias fest, all of disc 3 at one sitting!, well I did break for a coffee, so well acted, the scenes and period costume, just so right, after that and a WhatsApp chat with Diana I was off to bed.

It Was A Glorious Sunday,

warm, no wind, blue skies, birds singing, that sort of thing,

as I settled down to my Sunday read,

before a delicious crab claw salad,

'Cheers!',

after a long break our main course gammon ham, with gravy for Diana,

sans gravy for myself,

for dessert a treat we have not had in a long time,

sliced peaches and ice cream,

in the garden,

the foxes were almost in full force, the two adults, one with a damaged rear leg that was limping,

and one of the youngsters, also with a limp on the same rear leg,

they have learnt to make me take a guilt trip, every time I pass the window they stop and look,

so I just have to throw out another handful of peanuts, we spent the afternoon and early evening with Columbo, a few episodes we had not watched before, or a very long time ago, after a snack in the evening one of two films the first,

I had watched a small part of The Haunting, about 8 days ago before I left Diana watching it, as it happens she only watched a little more before looking at one of the Asian programmes she likes, the next day Diana mentioned she would like to see the whole movie, so I bought it on a DVD as I mentioned before apparently it was pretty scary dairy, this from one reviewer:

"After watching "The Haunting" 1963, I slept with my hands under the covers for 3 weeks. I was alone in the house, very late at night. Every sound amplified.. I was a full grown woman. For Pete's sake, I have watched almost every monster movie made. Even the original "Wolfman." Hummm, I could handle this. Wrong! I have never been so frightened in my life. Who or What was holding her hand??...The door at the top of the spiral stair almost gave me a stroke. This movie made a believer out of me. The sound effects, the lighting, the "breathing door", plus the fact it was Black and White.. The house, well don't ask me to attend a dinner party there. You will be eating alone. Perfect movie for Halloween. I give this movie a "10","

well it was pretty good considering its age, and what movie goers in 1963 were used to, we followed that with a real comedy,

Hot Shots! a total fun fest from start to finish, if you like word play and especially slapstick humor, almost a tribute in so many places to Laurel & Hardy, with Lloyd Bridges playing the accident prone Oliver Hardy, by now it was late, so for us we were off to bed.

After Diana Left In The Afternoon,

I played with a few more photographs,

these are just a couple,

from the Vienna Central Cemetery or as it is known locally, Wiener Zentralfriedhof, these are from our trip there in August 2025, a bit morbid I guess, but the statues here, like some of the cemeteries in the UK are real works of art,

I played until it was time for my evening read and sherry,

for tonight liver and bacon,

'Cheers!', as it was Saturday evening none of the usual programs on the television, so it was time for a film,

Stargate, a little dated as it was made in 1994, but still good fun to watch again, a Egyptologist and some US troops use an ancient device found in 1920s Egypt to transport them to another world, after which I still had time for one more episode of the Borgias before Diana arrived home, then a coffee and a chat as we watched a program about restoring a VW camper van, the rarest of the rare a Sumba van, there were 2 versions the 21 and 23 window models, so many windows! but this was to give travelers, up to 8 adults, unrestricted views,

the one shown here from Car & Classic is in the factory colors, a dark chocolate brown for the top and slightly off red, but it does not have the much more desirable rear barn door,

like this one, photograph Campervan Crazy, for the one in the program a figure of £250,000 was banded about, but that was for the original vehicle and a year long total restoration, every nut and bolt as the original, after which a Bangers & Cash before we were off to bed.

Back To The Shop Today,

again!

I had ordered a few DVD's, a company was offering 5 DVD's for £10.00 including post & packaging, so I bought them, but in my haste I hit the deliver to the shop button, twice! so out past the snail mail box,

on to a number 54 bus and past the green,

alighting at This 'N' That,

outside on the table they had 3 vases in different sizes that looked quite nice, all appearing to be hand painted,

I popped inside but Joanne was busy with a number of customers so just a quick Hi,

the shop was busy, a lady sitting outside whilst I guess her other half looked at fish, the same as Diana and myself when we go shopping as I wait outside a clothing/handbag shop, also a customers car on the hard standing outside, and the blue van making a delivery, it was all go at Kingfisheries

arriving home Diana had already left for work, a late shift today, and these are the DVD's I bought, one a Sunday afternoon treat Cat on a Hot Tin Roof, the others just comedies, having said it was 5 DVD's for £10.00 I actually received 6, as the Hot Shots had 2 DVD's in it, parts I & II, I played with a few more photographs until it was time for my evening meal,

but first a read and a sherry, the latest edition of Private Eye had just arrived,

on the way back from the shop I had bought a toad in the hole for this evening,

'Cheers!', after which it was a Deadliest Catch, there was not a Midsomer Murder playing tonight so a double helping of,

The Borgias, as the last time I watched it, it was so enjoyable, and so many actors in it I recognized even though I did not know their names, I watched 2 episode then time for a film,

The Way West, a great Western, it had everything it it, hanging, Indians, on the trail justice, hate, love and a few unexpected twists and turns, at 2 hour long it was still playing as Diana arrived home, so time for a coffee and a chat as we watched the film, I was chatting to Diana about how some of these settlers really had a hard time, the Donner Party for one, and the word 'party' did not apply! after the film finished we were off to bed.

It Was Diana's Day Off,

and the girls had their day planned,

firstly Kai picked up Diana in her car, and speed off to Bromley,

to a hairdressing saloon, both girls had a cut,

Diana admiring her new look,

next a meal in a Vietnamese restaurant in Bromley, the Bowl O'Pho

I am not sure what they ordered, but there was lots of it,

next fully fed back to Kai's home, outside there is a lot of scaffolding as some repairs to the gutters and pebbledash finish were being undertaken, so Kai out of the bedroom window to start trimming some tree tops,

careful!

then downstairs to cut down the trunk,

with a little help from Diana,

and one of the neighbors,

top half done, next the bottom half,

and of course a couple of videos,

Kai wanted to remove a lot of the old trees, and she did!

for myself we both left at roughly the same time, past the snail mail box and on to a number 54 bus,

alighting at This 'N' That,

the florists had a nice display,

I had a few things to pick up from the shop, including some RO water, then home and feet up, I watched the normal game shows until Diana returned from Kai's then a treat, a sausage bap and a tea for our evening meal, after a double helping of Deadliest Catch it was feet up for,

Minority Report, it was quite enjoyable, once you got your head round that murders can predicted, and as a bonus it had one of our favorite actors in the film Max Von Sydow, by now it was getting late so for us, we were off to bed.
