To Save Money Some Councils In The UK Empty Bins Only Once Every Two Weeks,

personally I find that unhygienic in the extreme, but then it appears to be the norm in the UK, unlike here where the bins are emptied 3 times a week, but I digress, as you can imagine with the hot weather that they have been having in the UK flies have had a field day, laying their eggs on refuse if a bin lid has been left slightly ajar, guess what? the eggs change into maggots, great bait for fishing but grounds not to empty a bin - livestock you see - that is what contractors SITA said when they refused to empty homeowner John Harlow's bin it contravened council rules for contractors to handle 'live animals',
John, a parish councillor, blasted 'jobsworth' staff at Warwick District Council for their 'overzealous' attitude, the father of two, from Leek Wootton near Warwick, said: 'I live in the country and see livestock like sheep, pigs and cattle regularly but there were none in my box, Warwick District Council yesterday apologised for the blunder, contract services manager Rob Hoof said: 'We are sorry Mr Harlow has experienced problems with the service,
but on a more serious note I would have thought that once every 2 week rubbish collection must lead to an increase in vermin, maggots, mice and rats, plus domesticated pets eating food that has some form of infection on it then passing it to the householders family, I wonder if cases of that type of infection has been noted by UK doctors?
but back to the story, SITA refused to comment.
